i recently upgraded to 1.1.10
since then, seamonkey has disappeared while open and in use.
its quicklaunch icon turned generic, and xp could no longer find the
app to open it.
i uninstalled it through the control panel, but it won't reinstall
so after scanning for viruses and malware in safe mode i've tried a
system restore.
the result; everything else on the system is as it was on the day of
that restore point, except for seamonkey, which is now gone as of a day
further back in the past than when it originally disappeared.
so the disaster has propagated.
can anyone help? and whatever is suggested, i really need to keep all
bookmarks, passwords.

it sounds like an xp problem more than a SeaMonkey one. Don't worry, all
your bookmarks, passwords, etc are stored in an area called the SM
profile. This is kept separate from where the program is kept. That
being said, use your file manager, locate the SM program directory, and
manually delete it. Now, reinstall SM, and try again.
thanks, i have done as you have suggested
error message on reinstall attempt "error occurred duringf installation-
navigator: 202 access denied "
have you any idea how i get around that? it's absolutely essential i
get going again within hours - i have to finish work on a project that is
to be shown to a lot of people at an event. <panic

you're computer isn't allowing you to install it. Are you installing it
as administrator, guest, or something else? If this is your work computer,
then ask them.

no, this is my puter and it's an administrator account |

also, internet explorer has died, meaning that if i try to open it,
the machine hangs. it's not listed in the 'programs add/remove' in
the control panel. so i can't even uninstall and then reinstall it.

IE is reinstalled by reinstalling SP2 or SP3. Use the full download, not the
Express Update.

Is there a fix. I like my ZA.
And yes, I found that out - if I installed SP3, I couldn't get back online.
So what's the fix?
