My new issue of PC Mag has an interesting article on Windows 7.
Most interesting is the move to a Kernel - a response to how much
Linux is hurting them in not demanding so much hardware for all
applications. HD space of 25MB and needing 40MB of ram is probably
small but the idea is there.
Five "Pillars" are planned for various system uses - very vague but
Home User, vs Business, vs Cloud, vs phones, vs ???
GUI (by the "Office" people) will be Vista-like but an option will
allow people to use an old XP-like interface - obviously a response
to large customers refusing to waste money unnecessarily
re-training thousands of employees.
