Drag the desktop icon over to the right, until it forms a new bar at the right side of the screen. On that bar you can activate the address bar, then drag it into the taskbar. On the next reboot it'll be gone again however. Not sure if a simple reghack can fix it either, as surely someone would have come up with one by now.

The darn goto button comes with it, and IE7 has no more option to hide it. How can I get rid of it ? It takes up too much space, but I don't know where in the registry I can flip the switch... Sorry.. Well, you might want to have a look at the registry. At HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main look for the entry ShowGoButton and see if it's set to no. That's all I can think of.
